Independence Now Open House Brings Community Together

Group photo at Independence Now’s Open House. Independence Now’s Open House on September 9 was a full house! Great connections were made, and engaging conversations occurred as staff interacted with consumers, funders, board members, peer Center for Independent Living staff, and other community partners. Each department including Independent Living Services, Maryland Work Incentives Network, Money Follows the Person, and Supports Planning described their services, and an assistive technology demonstration was presented. Consumers shared testimonies about how the organization’s services contributed toward their ability to achieve independent living. There was even a raffle prize of a fabulous wheelchair Barbie doll. Thanks to everyone who joined us! We encourage ongoing communication and collaboration to support residents with disabilities in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties.
