Adaptive (seated) Qi Gong and Tai Ji Quan

September 17 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Adaptive (seated) Qi Gong and Tai Ji Quan. Tuesdays at 4pm.

Join us for a seated adaptation of the simplified Tai Ji Quan 24 form set standardized by the Chinese Martial Arts Association. The forms are introduced gradually by proceeding from an 8-form set, then a 16-form set, to get to the 24.

We start class with the Ba Duan Jin, the Eight Pieces of Brocade Qi Gong, to get ourselves centered, relaxed, and in a mindful state, before beginning the Tai Ji proper, which can be described as meditative movement, or moving meditation. Ideally, one should come away from class feeling calm, relaxed, and de-stressed.

…until then, “Relax, Breath, and Be Mindful.”
