Creative Cooking Class: Feed Your Mind, Fuel Your Body [In-Person]
In recognition of National Wellness Month, join us for an engaging and interactive cooking class focused on the powerful connection between nutrition and mental wellness. Discover how brain-healthy foods can help support focus, memory, mood, and overall well-being while learning to prepare quick, delicious, and budget-friendly meals.
We’ll explore affordable ingredients that nourish both your body and mind, along with adaptive kitchen tools and time-saving cooking techniques that make meal preparation easier, safer, and more accessible for people of all abilities. Whether you’re cooking for one or feeding your family, you’ll leave with practical recipes and tips that fit your budget and your lifestyle.
Our featured guest speaker will share valuable information on nutrition and mental wellness. Speaker to be announced.
Special Bonus Session: 2:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Following the cooking class, stay with us as we launch Independence Now’s Voter Engagement Campaign. Learn why your voice matters, how voting helps shape your community, and ways you can become an informed and active voter. This nonpartisan session will provide resources and information to help you make your voice heard and encourage civic participation within the disability community.
