In recognition of Emergency Preparedness Month, Independence Now will host an event allowing our consumers to have their emergency preparedness questions answered, participate in life-saving training, and meet their local emergency officials. Our goal is to ensure that people living with disabilities feel engaged and aware of their options for emergency preparedness planning. Participants will benefit from accurate and up-to-date information on how to plan for an emergency and agencies will provide essential information directly to people with disabilities, as speakers or as exhibitors or both. Agencies can learn the specific concerns that people with disabilities have, and possibly fill a need by targeting their outreach efforts to the disability community.
