Robert B. Cannon is employed with Resources for Independence, Inc., a Center for Independent Living headquartered in mountain Maryland and serving Garrett, Allegany, and Washington counties. Robert has 17 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities to include a dozen years in workforce development most of those overseeing three employment and training programs for individuals with disabilities in the Cumberland, MD, Martinsburg, WV, and Winchester, VA areas.
Coming to the Center for Independent Living, Robert gained certification to provide Benefits and Work Incentives Planning and Assistance services through Cornell University and certification to provide Benefits Counseling through the Maryland Department of Disabilities. He is a provisionally certified CWIC through Virginia Commonwealth University and is working toward full certification. His focus is on promoting financial independence by providing customers with work incentive information and counseling as tools with which they might make an informed decision about working.
