Marilyn Morrison – MD-WIN Director is originally from San Antonio, Texas but has lived in the area for over 30 years. Marilyn is a highly trained and dedicated professional assisting people with disabilities interested in working and utilizing their benefits to reach their employment goals.
Marilyn began her career in public policy/work incentives counseling over 20 years ago, after a successful career in marketing and public relations.
Technically trained by the Social Security Administration/VCU as a Community Work Incentives Counselor, she was also certified as a Work Incentives Specialist Advocate by the Virginia Department of Rehabilitation Services in 2007 and the Maryland Department of Rehabilitation Services in 2011.
She is well versed in all aspects of SSI/SSDI benefits, initial eligibility, and the intricate rules of work incentives, Medicaid, Medicaid, and other programs.
She has successfully assisted 1000’s clients to manage their benefits and reach their employment goals. In addition, she has had approximately $750,000 in SSA overpayments overturned on behalf of her clients by successfully applying work incentives. Marilyn has been a featured speaker for the National Organization of Social Security Claims Reps, The Virginia Transition Conference, The National Autism Society Conference, The National MS Society, the National Association of Benefits Work Incentives Counselors, NAMI, and many others.
